Statement of Faith - Objectives and Philosophy
  • We believe the Bible to be inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
  • We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His resurrection from the dead, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and in glory.
  • We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature.
  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ.

Our supreme desire is to know Christ and to be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Objectives:
We believe that the objectives of a Christian educational program are these:

  • To teach that the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to earth to die for our sin, and the necessity of being born again by the Spirit of God by receiving the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • To teach that growth in the Christian life depends upon fellowship with God through reading the Bible, prayer and service.
  • To teach that the Bible is the only Word of God. It is practical, important and relevant to every generation.
  • To teach the application of Biblical ethics and standards of morality to every part of life.
  • To teach the student to manifest fairness, courtesy, kindness, and other Christian graces, and to get along with non-Christians and with Christians who hold differing views.
  • To stress the urgency of world missions.
  • To relate the various subject matter areas with the truth of the Bible and teach that God is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe and of man.
  • To teach the student to work independently and cooperatively, to think for himself, and to stand up for his personal convictions in the face of pressure.
  • To develop the creative skills of the student, an appreciation of the fine arts, and effective communication skills.
  • To teach the knowledge and skills required for future study or for occupational competence.
  • To develop desire and discretion in wholesome physical and mental recreation.
  • To teach our American heritage, current problems facing our country and the world, to show the student his present civic responsibility, and to prepare him for adult responsibility as a citizen of heaven and a citizen of our nation.

Philosophy:
It is the purpose of our Christian School to provide a Christian view of God and the world, integrated with a sound academic education.

There is a difference between the Christian and the non-Christian viewpoints on a given subject. Even though knowledge is factually the same for both, no subject can be taught in the totality of its truth if the Creator is ignored or denied. The school is conscious that all truth is God's truth, including history, geography, science, music, and the arts, and that Jesus Christ is to be central in all learning.

It is the purpose of the school to develop the spiritual, mental, physical, emotional and social facets of life, as in the life of our Lord, Luke 2:52: "And Jesus increased in wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and man."

We believe God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, and the Source of all truth. Because of sin, man tends to omit God and thus fails to relate himself and his knowledge to God, the Source of all wisdom. Regeneration by faith in Jesus Christ enables man to come to the knowledge of Truth.

The home, church, and school should complement each other, promoting the student's spiritual, academic, social, emotional, and physical growth. The experience and training in each of these settings should be preparation for a life of fellowship with God and service to man.

God has given differing abilities to each student, and it is the Christian teacher's responsibility to challenge each child according to his ability and to seek to teach him at his academic level.
